I am very excited to announce that Michaela Sanytrová and I have translated Judith Kerr's beloved children's classic The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Never before translated into Czech, the book will hit bookshops in the Czech Republic in time for Christmas.
Michaela and I came up with the idea when hearing Judith Kerr speak about her work at the British Library in October 2015. Her father escaped Berlin just before the outbreak of WW2 and initially retreated to Prague before the whole family moved to London.
We felt that a book which has won hearts all over the world should be read by Czech children too and were delighted to be granted permission by the author. We look forward to carrying out workshops and other activities in Prague and London to celebrate the new translation.
The book will be for sale here
